Penguin (4) — May 22, 2013
After much anticipation the 4th Penguin update was finally released last May 22, 2013. After Matt Cutts announced that the new algorithm was focused mainly on catching more web spam the result was minimal compared to what was expected. We think that more smaller updates would be released unannounced that would potentially lead to bigger impact in search results positioning.
Penguin (3) — October 5, 2012
The next Penguin update was released early October 2012 and was estimated to have less than 1% impact on queries.

The second Penguin update was released on May which further implied Google’s continuous hunt for webspam. Lots of websites have been affected and have received manual penalties on unnatural links.

Google releases the Penguin update which targets webspam. This update targets over-optimization and unnatural links. It impacted more then 3# of English queries.
Panda (25) — March 15, 2013
The 25th Panda update was not confirmed by Google but they said that future Panda and Penguin updates will be unannounced because the updates will be integrated into their indexing process. Matt Cuttz also hinted during the SMX West event that the 25th Panda update will be rolling out on the 15th of March.
Panda (24) — January 22, 2013
The 24th Panda update was the first for 2013, it affected roughly 1%of search queries. A lot of websites felt this update and the actual figures may be a lot bigger than 1%.
Panda (23) — December 21, 2012
Right around the holidays people didn’t expect the last Panda update for the year which was released on December 21,2012 which impacted 1.3% of search results.
Panda (22) — November 21, 2012
The SEO industry felt an unannounced November 19 update which was quickly followed by the 22nd Panda update on November 21. The unnamed update was felt more than the actual Panda update.
Panda (21) — November 5, 2012
Panda 21 rolled out on November 5 2012 impacting 1.1% of English queries.
Panda 3.9.2 (19) — September 18, 2012 and Panda (20) — September 27, 2012
Google releases 2 September panda updates that had large scale algorithm changes. Together with the EMD update September was another major month for updates that affected a lot of websites.
Panda 3.9.1 (18) — August 20, 2012
Google releases the 18th update, impacted queries were fairly small.
Panda 3.9 (17) — July 24, 2012
Another Panda update came out on July 24, 2012 claiming 1% of search results were affected. SERPs fluctuated for several days.
Panda 3.8 (16) — June 25, 2012
Panda 3.8 was data update only and claimed that no algorithm changes occurred.
Panda 3.7 (15) — June 8, 2012
The 15th Panda update was released today June 8th. Google claims that almost 1% of queries were affected. Industry experts suspected that the affected figure is actually higher.
Panda 3.6 (14) — April 27, 2012
Had a minor effect on search results although it is the second update within April. Google is very active in releasing updates during this period and it has affected lots of websites for starting from the 1st quarter of 2012. Take note that the first Penguin update was release on April 24 in between the 2 Panda updates.

Panda 13 or 3.5 was another update that was said to have minimal impact.
Panda 3.4 (12) — March 23, 2012
Panda 3.4 or the 12th release was announced via twitter and was said to have impacted 1.6% of search results.
Panda 3.3 (11) — February 27, 2012
Panda celebrates its anniversary with another update, had minor effects on search queries.
Panda 3.2 (10) — January 18, 2012
Google confirms their 10th update of Panda, this also marks the first Panda update for the year.
Panda 3.1 (9) — November 18, 2011
Google announces that it will be releasing minor updates to the Panda algorithm. This has also been felt by webmasters as rankings began to fluctuate almost weekly.

In September Google released the 7th update in Panda webmasters suspect that it affected a large number of websites and search queries.

Panda 6 rolls out and affected both English and non-English queries. Reports that it impacted almost 7% of queries.

Google releases the first Panda update aimed at “farm” websites or link farms. Its purpose is to locate content farms, link networks, thin content, spam, too much ads along with other on-site quality issues.
